George II, Richard W.

Age 45 formerly of Elmira, NY passed away Sunday, November 16, 2014, in Tallapoosa, Ga. He was born November 16, 1969 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, the son of Mr. Richard Wadi George, Sr. and Mrs. Diane Barbara Lorgan. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Wadi George, III and his brother, Brandon George. He is survived by his wife, Debra Lynn Church George of Tallapoosa, GA; daughters, Brittany (Mickey) Yarborough of Carrollton, GA, Savanna George of Elmira, NY; son, Sean Khattak of Tallapoosa, GA; sisters, Leanne Mackey of Wilmington, NC, Melanie George of Elmira, NY and Sara George of Felton, CA; brother, Dustin George of Penn Yan, NY; four grandchildren.; two nieces and one nephew also survive.

Richie was certified as a metal fabricator during his service in the United States Army. He went on to spend his career as a welder. His love of music began as a child, and he spent a lot of time playing the harmonica and writing poetry. Fishing and carving wood were two of his favorite hobbies. Richie was a charismatic individual who smiled with his eyes and had contagious laughter. He loved his family dearly and was passionate about being a father.

You brought a light to this world that cannot be replaced, and life feels emptier without you in it. We will miss and love you so very much.

Friends may call at the Baker Family Funeral Home on Saturday December 6th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm with a funeral service following at 2:00 pm.
