Philomena T. Pica Obituary (1927 - 2014)

PICA, PHILOMENA A lifelong resident of Elmira, New York, died early Sunday morning, October 12, 2014. Philomena was born in Elmira on November 6, 1927, to Nickolas & Mary Lucy. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Pica, who passed in 1987. She was also predeceased by her brother, Martin Lucy, her sisters, Rose Antonetti & Florence Marino, and her niece, Mary Esther Allen. Philomena is survived by her sister, Mary Ellen Mathers of Scottsdale, Arizona, her devoted children and their spouses: Mary Rae & Thomas Pineo of Elmira, Andrea & Thomas Morningstar of Lockwood, New York, Phyllis & Richard Rynone of Waverly, New York, and Joseph Pica & Maureen Coyle of Endicott, New York. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Nickolas with Renee, Alexis with Laura, Matthew & Jennifer, Katherine with Brian, Stephanie & Ian, James, and her very special nieces and nephews. Philomena was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy and worked at the Lovely Shop as well as the Cameo Shop in Elmira. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Church in Elmira and a member of the Roma Madre Lodge Sayre, Pennsylvania. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. PHILOMENA'S MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL WILL BE HELD ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2014, AT 10:00AM AT OUR LADY OF LOURDES CHURCH, ELMIRA, WITH THE REV. SCOTT M. KUBINSKI OFFICIATING. PRIVATE INTERMENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT ST. PETER & PAUL'S CEMETERY, ELMIRA. Those wishing may make contributions to Christ the Redeemer Parish or Elmira Blessed Sacrament Parish.
