JACOBSON, DINA Age 92 of Elmira, NY. died at home on Thursday, June 12, 2014. THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT CONGREGATION KOL AMI, 1008 W. WATER ST., ELMIRA ON SUNDAY, JUNE 15, AT 11:00AM. ABRAHAM GOLOS OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW IN FRANKLIN STREET CEMETERY, ELMIRA. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations to Congregation Kol Ami or the Special Olympics. Dina is survived by daughters & son-in-law, Connie & Alan Liss of Gaithersburg, MD., Sarah Jacobson of Alexandria, VA. Grandchildren, Kayla & Ian Liss, Henry & Arielle Liss. She was predeceased by her husband Kalmon"Jake" & son Joey. Dina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & friend to all. She was a survivor of the Holocaust & Auschwitz concentration camp. A documentary film was made about her survival & strength in moving forward. She spoke to schools, colleges, synagogues & community groups about her history to remind the world & to make sure "it will never happen again". Dina will always be remembered as an educator & most of all, a giving, loving person.
