Carrie Zeigler

Born July 30 1947

Died August 10, 2024 is survived by son, Peter Zeigler and his partner Nicole Langlois of Massachusetts; former husband, Robert Zeigler and his wife Rachael Vance of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Abigail Zeigler and William Zeigler; nieces, Laura B. Olander of Montana and Carrie D. Bradley of New York; brother-in-law, Peter Bradley of Minnesota; cousins, Bruce Rutherford of Texas, Joseph C. Watt of New York, William Watt and Elizabeth Kaiser; and her goddaughter, Lindsay Mog.

Carrie passed after many health challenges in her later years. Her wish is to be remembered for her healthy productive years. Carrie was educated in fine arts, cinematography, and teaching at Pratt Institute and Elmira College.  After an early career in advertising in New York City and Chicago, Carrie came home to Elmira where she spent over 25 years teaching art at Gardner Road Elementary School in Horseheads, retiring as a revered art educator.

Carrie was a world traveler, often documenting her trips with photography and writings. She loved gardening, cooking, and sharing time with family and friends.

The family will welcome relatives and friends to Grace Episcopal Church, 375 W. Church St, Elmira, NY on Saturday, August 17th at 10am for Carrie’s memorial service.
